HSMC Computing Cup 2018

Congratulations to 5E Tang Pok Lam who was the third place in Hang Seng Management College Computing Cup 2018 on 26th May 2018 organised by Hang Seng Management College. Contestants are required to design and implement an Android mobile APP for visitors to Hong Kong. The APP need to contain basic information of 18 specified points of interest (POI) in Hong Kong. More importantly, it should contain a Smart Travel Planner function that allows users to select a number of POIs that he/she plans to visit during a day. The APP should then recommend the best order that the POIs should be visited, with the objective of helping the user to minimize the total travelling time between the POIs. There were 40 teams registered for Computing Cup 2018 and only 5 teams were selected to the final. Tang Pok Lam’s design work was one of them. The final event was held on Saturday, 26th May at Hang Seng Management College S H Ho Academic Building (Block A) Room A401 Fung Yiu King Hall. In the final event, contestants were arranged to do a 10 min presentation to persuade a group of judges how valuable his design works. By the end, Tang Pok Lam was confirmed to win the bronze award by the organizer. Professor Ho Shun Man was the officiating guest of the ceremony. A banner and $2000 cash prize were presented by him in the award ceremony.
