To cultivate students' awareness of lawfulness and strengthen their understanding on the Constitution and the legal system of Hong Kong, especially on the Constitution and the Basic Law, Form 4 students attended a law talk organized by the Department of Justice on 19 October.
Lawyers from the Department of Justice introduced the importance of implementation of “one country, two systems” by explaining the constitutional relationship between the country and the HKSAR as well as fundamental rights and duties of Hong Kong residents as stipulated in the Basic Law. They also introduced alternative dispute resolutions like Mediation, including Peer Mediation, and Arbitration. Students’ understanding on those topics were strengthened through interactive games and they showed a great interest in the job of mediators.
