STEM week (Science Activities)

In order to let students explore more in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, Science Department, Mathematics Department, STEM Department and Computer Department held STEM Week from March 11th to March 15th. Through a series of engaging workshops and competitions, students had more chances to immerse themselves in hands-on activities and deepen their interests in STEM.

 

On March 11th, the Science department organized an activity called "Stargazing in 3D Dome". A 3D dome was set up in the school hall, projecting images of outer space. Students had the opportunity to enter the dome to have stargazing and to learn some knowledge and tales of constellations.

 

On March 12th, the Science department organized an inter-class competition called "Paper tower building competition”. Students from each class in Form 1 and Form 2 were required to build a paper tower at least one meter tall using newspapers within a limited time. The tower needed to support the maximum number of bottles of Yakult. Class 2D won the competition by building a paper tower holding 45 bottles of Yakult successfully.

 

On March 13th and 15th, the Science department organized a lotion making workshop. Participants learnt to make a bottle of lotion using natural ingredients.
