Project Learning

Project learning is considered as the learning and teaching strategy to promote self-directed and self-regulated learning among students. It enables students to construct and connect knowledge, skills and attitudes through a variety of activities. Through these activities, students may develop ways of reading to learn and are conducive in the formation of their own moral and civic values.

A skill-based approach will be adopted. Different KLAs will be co-coordinated and work collaboratively in helping students to develop the nine generic skills recommended by EMB.

Core subjects /KLAs will be centrally organised at school level to conduct year large scale project work. Some subjects, however, based on the subject nature and the number of teacher manpower available will be exempted from joining the above scheme. But they are still required to conduct a mini-project in groups. The mini-project will be subject-based to meet subject requirements.

Assessment
Continuous assessment will be adopted. Students will be assessed basing on their performance in the generic skills. Focused skills will be ranked at a greater proportion of weight in the overall scaling.
