LIBRARY REGULATIONS

A. General Regulations

Students may use the library any time during the opening hours.
Students must wear school uniform in the library.
Chatting, eating and sleeping are not permitted in the library.
Bags and cases must be left at the entrance and collected when leaving.
Books, magazines and newspaper should be put back in the proper place after reading.
The library is a place for reading and revision. Users should remain quiet.
Students leaving the library should show their books to the Teacher Librarian or Library Prefect on duty.

B. Regulations for borrowing books

The Student Card entitles the holder to borrow eight items (including books or non-book materials).
The borrowed items (including non-book materials) should be returned to the library within two weeks and if the items are not pre-engaged by anyone else, the holder may borrow the items for a further period of two weeks.
The items (including non-book materials) should be kept clean. No mark of any kind should be made on them and no damage should be done to them.
If any damage to an item (including non-book materials) is found, the student who borrows it must report to the Teacher Librarian at once. Otherwise the student will be held responsible for the damage.
If any borrowed items (including non-book materials) are lost or damaged, the borrower must provide a replacement or make good the damage caused.
The Teacher Librarian may at any time request the borrower to return the items (including non-book materials) to the library.
If the borrower does not return the items (including non-book materials) to the library by the day due, the fine is $0.50 per each school day.
Please line up and keep quiet.

C. Loan periods for different kinds of resources

Ordinary books: two weeks.
Special reference books (e.g. those published by Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority): over-night.
Dictionaries and encyclopedias will not be on loan and should not be taken away from the library.

D. Opening Hours

School Day: Monday - Friday 8:30a.m. to 1:00p.m.

1:20p.m. to 4:50p.m.

Saturday (Alternate Week) 9:00a.m. to 12:30p.m.

E. Students can use the computer during Recess Time, Lunch Time and After School.

F. Photocopying by students: $0.40 for each F4 or A4 size paper.

G. Students are not allowed to switch off the air-conditioner. If there is any enquires, please contact the Teacher Librarian.

H. Any students who break any of the above regulations may not be allowed to use the library.

I. The above regulations are subject to alteration at any time should circumstances require, but a notice will be posted on the bulletin board of the school library when a change is made.
