History
The Student Union was set up in 1996. Since then, all form 6 students are eligible to make their own cabinets and are elected by their schoolmates every year. The election is an act of democracy as they elect it and it answers to them. It is the place where problems or questions arising from either students or teachers can be presented for discussion or consideration. Our Union is indeed a union for the students, of the students and by the students.
Our goals: [to]
- (1) support and co-ordinate activities inside and outside school;
- (2) enhance a strong sense of belonging to the school;
- (3) foster the tradition and the culture of our school;
- (4) further the best interests of the student body and school activities;
- (5) promote good citizenship throughout the school;
- (6) cultivate leadership, enhance social awareness, and
- (7) improve effective communciation students through activities.
The purpose of the Student Union is not to govern the students, but to serve
as
to forum for the exchange of ideas and information between students and School.
Our services: [to]
- (1) act as a centre of information for all schoolmates;
- (2) provide sports items lending service, stationery purchase and so on;
- (3) organize for schoolmates various kinds of activities, exhibitions, competitions, visits and so on;
- (4) promote cultural exchange between students and students from other schools.
Our activities:
All extra-curricular activities aim to provide schoolmates with opportunities of character building and potential realization. Members organize school activities to cater for students’diversified interests. Besides organizing various activities, the Union strives to work actively for the welfare of our schoolmates.
