Buddhist Sin Tak College
Introduction

School Type:    Aided, Co-educational
Religion:          Buddhism

Located at 5 Hing Shing Road, Kwai Chung, Buddhist Sin Tak College was founded by the Hong Kong Buddhist Association over half a decade ago, and its first classes commenced on September 1, 1973.

The school name is derived from the character "善" from Dr. Ho Sin Hang and the character "德"  from his wife, Ms. Lee Foon Tak. As the school aims to promote Buddhist values and is an EMI institution, it is named "Buddhist Sin Tak College."

The school upholds the educational mission of the Hong Kong Buddhist Association through the school motto: "To illumine wisdom, manifest compassion, and pursue kindness and virtue." We view academic and moral education as equally essential and strive to provide students with a harmonious, open, rigorous, and enriching school life. In doing so, we are not only able to impart knowledge to students but also cultivate their skills, character, and vision, ultimately preparing them to become well-rounded and competent individuals in society.

The school campus consists of six storeys, with a total of thirty-nine classrooms and special rooms. Additionally, our school is facilitated with a computer room,  laboratory, student activity centre, multimedia learning centre, and English Corner. All classrooms and special rooms are equipped with multimedia projectors, visualisers, projection screens, computers, and network interfaces. A social worker consultation room is also available to enhance counseling services according to students' developmental needs. Furthermore, the school offers a Moral and Civic Education curriculum to instil correct values and perspectives among students.

In 1998, the Education Bureau recognised the school as one of the institutions permitted to use English as the medium of instruction (MOI) for junior secondary education. In 2016, the school was included in the fine-tuned MOI arrangements for secondary schools, allowing it to continue using English as the medium of instruction for junior secondary education until 2028.
