S1 National Education Seminar2024-09-11 (Wednesday)To promote patriotic education, the Youth New World held a national education seminar titled "Commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Long March." All S.1 student from our school attended the weekly assembly today (11th September, 2024) named "Defying the Current: The Long March Edition," where they had the opportunity to learn the importance of maintaining a positive attitude and being resilient in the face of adversity.
Scoops of Smiles: Ice Cream Giveaway2024-09-11 (Wednesday)Our school was filled with joy as we celebrated the "Scoops of Smiles" ice cream giveaway! An ice cream truck visited our campus, treating all students to free ice cream cones and cups. The event was a delightful break for everyone, bringing smiles and sweet treats. This wonderful activity was generously sponsored by Ven. Ku Tay, our school supervisor, and Ven. Guo Ngai. We were honored to have Ven. Guo Ngai visit us, showing immense support and kindness to both staff and students. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity, making this memorable day possible. Thank you for bringing smiles to our school!
People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison2024-09-02 (Monday)"The Hong Kong Youth Military Summer Camp" is co-organized by the Concerted Efforts Resource Centre, the Chinese People's Liberation Army Garrison in Hong Kong and the Education Bureau. The aim is to develop participants’ good manner, leadership skills, as well as the spirit of perseverance, self-discipline, discipline, and unity through various physical training and moral education activities. It also provides students with the opportunity to experience the life of People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison, learning basic military knowledge and skills, and deepening their understanding of national defense. 3B Chung Cheuk-lam was admitted to the military camp and successfully completed the 7-day military training.
Training camp for scout leaders2024-08-24 (Saturday)During the two-day training camp, the senior patrol leader, patrol leaders, and assistant patrol leaders of the 15th South Kwai Chung Group in 2024-2025 revisited and deepened their skills in building camp gadgets and contents of camping inspections. They also learnt basic Chinese foot-drilling and enhanced their leadership skills through group sharing and case studies, equipping themselves to their roles in the upcoming year.
UK Education Tour2024-07-14 To 28The School co-organized a 15-day study tour in London, UK, hosted by Oxford International English Schools, for 32 S1 to S4 students from 14th July to 28th July 2024. The tour included interactive lessons and workshops, sightseeing and excursions. The authentic learning experiences outside of the classroom provided the students with a good understanding of British culture and history. Their enriching experience of exploring the world also is likely to inspire their curiosity and play a key role in their growth.
Sin Tak Music Gala 20242024-07-09 (Tuesday)The Sin Tak Music Gala 2024, the grand finale of our school's Golden Jubilee, was held on July 9, 2024, at the Academic Community Hall, HKBU. The evening featured captivating performances by the Western Orchestra, soloists, ensembles, Chinese Orchestra, and school choir. The highlight was the original English musical, Pitch and Point. This unforgettable event, filled with music and memories, left a lasting impression on all participants and attendees.

Boy Scout members participated in the flag-raising ceremony at the Bauhinia Square2024-07-01 (Monday)Ten S.3-S.5 Boy Scout members from our school participated in the flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People\'s Republic of China at the Bauhinia Square. Prior to the flag-raising ceremony, the Chief Executive, Mr. John K.C. Li, approached each uniformed group to show his respect and receive salutes from each of them.
Volleyball Exchange Tour, Zhaoqing2024-06-28 To 07-01The boys' and girls’ volleyball teams of our school went to Zhaoqing Sports Training Center for four days and three nights of volleyball training and exchange on 28/6-1/7/2024. The students had five training sessions and two exchange competitions with the students of Zhaoqing Middle School. While training in volleyball, students learned about the development of sports in China and the volleyball culture of Zhaoqing, and deepened their understanding of the motherland. Despite the hardships of the high-intensity training, the students worked hard to complete all the training and competitions, demonstrating perseverance.
STEAM Exhibition2024-06-26 (Wednesday)S1 and S2 students joined a STEAM exhibition on 26th June, 2024. S2 students designed "smart products" for target groups, utilizing design thinking skills and coding skills they had learned in STEAM lessons. It provided a platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and interactive learning across the grade levels.
Franklin Lam's Mentoring Programme: Essential Help to Students in a Complex World2024-06-22 To 07-13Mr. Lam Fan Keung, BBS, the founder of HKGolden50 shared his wisdom with our senior form students in a series of seminars. He covered the existential risks worldwide, 3 essential rules for decisions and careers planning and solutions that impressed all participants. Students found the seminars inspiring and life-changing and Mr. Lam was willing to answer every question raised by Sin Takers in great detail.
Library——Themed Book Exhibition2024-04-30 (Tuesday)A PowerPoint presentation about Tofu was played in the library.
National Security Education group——Exhibition and booth games2024-04-29 To 30Subjects included Science, Chinese Literature, Mathematics, English and Home Economics ran the booth games. They introduced students to the ingredients, culture, nutritional value, and cutting methods of tofu through various exhibits and booth games.
Vegetarian Lunch2024-04-26 (Friday)Members of the Chinese History and Literature Club were invited to create a presentation on the theme of "Tofu," which was screened during the vegetarian lunch, introducing the Chinese food culture. Participants were treated to Tofu pudding, a signature dessert for Hongkongers!
Chinese Literature Department —— Reading Circle on Chinese Tofu2024-04-26 (Friday)Reading and discussion on literary works on the theme of Tofu. Students were enjoying tofu as a snack while immersed in literary reading.
S3-S5 students visiting the HKU Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine2024-04-13 (Saturday)A group of our S3-S5 students had the opportunity to visit the renowned HKU Medical School on April 13, 2024. This visit aimed to provide our students with an enriching experience in the field of medicine. The highlight of the visit was the virtual reality (VR) anatomy tour held at the Medical Library. Our students were able to step into the world of three-dimensional visualization and gain a deeper understanding of the structures and physiological functions of the human body. Additionally, our students had the privilege of visiting the Nursing department, where they were exposed to a high-fidelity human patient simulation. Led by expert instructors, this hands-on experience provided our students with an opportunity to witness and participate in procedures such as stitches removal and injection. This practical encounter allowed our students to appreciate the critical aspects of patient care and medical treatments. Furthermore, the visit included an admissions information session and Q&A session facilitated by Professor Pui Hong Chung. Professor Chung shared valuable insights about the admission process, curriculum, and various career opportunities available at the Medical School. This visit has ignited students’ passion for studying medical-related studies and equipped them with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their future academic pursuits.

S.4 Students Visiting the Court of Final Appeal (Organized by the Citizenship and Social Development Department)2024-04-05 (Friday)On 25th April 2024, S.4B Students joined the Court of Final Appeal guided visit. Founded in 1912, the building has a long history and is now a declared monument. During the tour, students had the opportunity to learn the history and operation of the Court of Final Appeal, and enhance their understanding of the architectural heritage of the building. The tour encourages students to establish positive values like “rule of law”, “Law-abidingness” and “national identity” and proper attitudes.

PTA Sha Tau Kok Day Trip2024-03-31 (Sunday)On 31st March, 2024, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) organized an eagerly anticipated day trip to Sha Tau Kok. This event provided parents, students, and teachers the opportunity to explore various attractions within the restricted area of Sha Tau Kok, deepening their understanding of this mysterious region. During the day, participants visited renowned sites in Sha Tau Kok, appreciating its unique natural landscapes and cultural heritage. Additionally, they participated in a hands-on experience making traditional Hakka Steamed Glutinous Rice Cake, enjoying the craft and artistry involved. At lunchtime, everyone gathered to savor delicious Poon Choi, enjoying the rich flavors of local cuisine. The highlight of the day was the exciting lucky draw, bringing surprise and joy to all attendees. Through this event, parents, students, and teachers not only gained a deeper understanding of Sha Tau Kok but also shared a joyful and fulfilling day together.
